TRNA pseudouridine(38/39) synthase. [EC: 5.4.99.45]
tRNA uridine(38/39) = tRNA pseudouridine(38/39).
  • The enzyme from Saccharomyces cerevisiae is active only toward uridine(38) and uridine(39), and shows no activity with uridine(40) (cf. EC 5.4.99.12).
  • In vitro the enzyme from mouse is active on uridine(39) and very slightly on uridine(38) (human tRNA(Leu)).
