FunFam 112259: 3-(3-hydroxy-phenyl)propionate/3-hydroxycinnamic a...

There are 3 EC terms in this cluster

Please note: EC annotations are assigned to the full protein sequence rather than individual protein domains. Since a given protein can contain multiple domains, it is possible that some of the annotations below come from additional domains that occur in the same protein, but have been classified elsewhere in CATH.

Note: The search results have been sorted with the annotations that are found most frequently at the top of the list. The results can be filtered by typing text into the search box at the top of the table.

EC Term Annotations Evidence
3-(3-hydroxy-phenyl)propanoic acid hydroxylase. [EC: 1.14.13.127]
(1) 3-(3-hydroxyphenyl)propanoate + NADH + O(2) = 3-(2,3- dihydroxyphenyl)propanoate + H(2)O + NAD(+). (2) (2E)-3-(3-hydroxyphenyl)prop-2-enoate + NADH + O(2) = (2E)-3-(2,3- dihydroxyphenyl)prop-2-enoate + H(2)O + NAD(+).
  • This enzyme participates in a meta-cleavage pathway employed by the bacterium Escherichia coli for the degradation of various phenylpropanoid compounds.
  • Formerly EC 1.14.13.n3.

Pentachlorophenol monooxygenase. [EC: 1.14.13.50]
(1) Pentachlorophenol + NADPH + O(2) = 2,3,5,6-tetrachloro-1,4- benzoquinone + NADP(+) + chloride + H(2)O. (2) 2,3,5,6-tetrachlorophenol + NADPH + O(2) = 2,3,5,6- tetrachlorohydroquinone + NADP(+) + H(2)O.
  • The enzyme displaces a diverse range of substituents from the 4-position of polyhalogenated phenols but requires that a halogen substituent be present at the 2-position.
  • If C-4 carries a halogen substituent, reaction 1 is catalyzed; if C-4 is unsubstituted, reaction 2 is catalyzed.
