This superfamily comprises structural domains found in several ATPases, including actin PFAM:PF00022, INTERPRO:IPR004000, Hsp70 PFAM:PF00012, INTERPRO:IPR013126, BadF/BadG/BcrA/BcrD PFAM:PF01869, various kinases (acetokinase PFAM:PF00871, INTERPRO:IPR000890, hexokinase PFAM:PF00349, INTERPRO:IPR022672, glucokinase PFAM:PF02685, INTERPRO:IPR003836, glycerol kinase), DnaK INTERPRO:IPR012725, ROK PFAM:PF00480, INTERPRO:IPR000600, PilM PFAM:PF11104, INTERPRO:IPR005883, Fumble PFAM:PF03630. Members of this superfamily have two lobes, one with nucleotide binding activity, and a second one with substrate binding activity. The lobes can be structurally divided into 4 subdomains - 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B (or 1, 2, 3, 4). The ATP binding site in these ATPases is well conserved, and is located at the junction of the two lobes, in a deep cleft. This superfamily entry represents subdomain 4 from the substrate binding domain (SBD).
