The name of this superfamily has been modified since the most recent official CATH+ release (v4_3_0). At the point of the last release, this superfamily was named:

"
Get5 dimerization domain
".

Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: Get5 dimerization domain

Structural domains comprising this superfamily share the structure of the carboxyl dimerization domain of Get5, which enables either homodimerization or complex formation with Get4. Tail-anchored transmembrane proteins are targeted to membranes post-translationally. This is mediated by the obligate Get4-Get5 complex, which catalyzes the transfer of tail-anchored proteins destined to the endoplasmic reticulum from Sgt2 to the cytosolic targeting factor Get3 PMID:22262836.
