The name of this superfamily has been modified since the most recent official CATH+ release (v4_2_0). At the point of the last release, this superfamily was named:

"
Cysteine proteinases

Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

FunFam 17027: CG5603-PB, isoform B

There are 3 EC terms in this cluster

Please note: EC annotations are assigned to the full protein sequence rather than individual protein domains. Since a given protein can contain multiple domains, it is possible that some of the annotations below come from additional domains that occur in the same protein, but have been classified elsewhere in CATH.

Note: The search results have been sorted with the annotations that are found most frequently at the top of the list. The results can be filtered by typing text into the search box at the top of the table.

EC Term Annotations Evidence
Ubiquitinyl hydrolase 1. [EC: 3.4.19.12]
Thiol-dependent hydrolysis of ester, thioester, amide, peptide and isopeptide bonds formed by the C-terminal Gly of ubiquitin (a 76-residue protein attached to proteins as an intracellular targeting signal).
  • Links to polypeptides smaller than 60 residues are hydrolyzed more readily than those to larger polypeptides.
  • Isoforms exist with quantitatively different specificities among the best known being UCH-L1 and UCH-L3, major proteins of the brain of mammals.
  • Inhibited by ubiquitin aldehyde (in which Gly76 is replaced by aminoacetaldehyde).
  • Belongs to peptidase family C12.

    Phosphoinositide phospholipase C. [EC: 3.1.4.11]
    1-phosphatidyl-1D-myo-inositol 4,5-bisphosphate + H(2)O = 1D-myo-inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate + diacylglycerol.
    • These enzymes form some of the cyclic phosphate Ins(cyclic 1,2)P(4,5)P(2) as well as Ins(1,4,5)P(3).
    • They show activity toward phosphatidylinositol, i.e., the activity of EC 4.6.1.13 in vitro at high calcium concentration.
