FunFam 35969: 3D-(3,5/4)-trihydroxycyclohexane-1,2-dione hydrola...

There are 5 EC terms in this cluster

Please note: EC annotations are assigned to the full protein sequence rather than individual protein domains. Since a given protein can contain multiple domains, it is possible that some of the annotations below come from additional domains that occur in the same protein, but have been classified elsewhere in CATH.

Note: The search results have been sorted with the annotations that are found most frequently at the top of the list. The results can be filtered by typing text into the search box at the top of the table.

EC Term Annotations Evidence
3D-(3,5/4)-trihydroxycyclohexane-1,2-dione acylhydrolase (decyclizing). [EC: 3.7.1.22]
3D-3,5/4-trihydroxycyclohexa-1,2-dione + H(2)O = 5-deoxy-D-glucuronate.
  • The enzyme, found in the bacterium Bacillus subtilis, is part of the myo-inositol degradation pathway leading to acetyl-CoA.
  • Formerly EC 3.7.1.n2.

Acetolactate synthase. [EC: 2.2.1.6]
2 pyruvate = 2-acetolactate + CO(2).
  • The reaction shown is in the pathway of biosynthesis of valine.
  • The enzyme can also transfer the acetaldehyde from pyruvate to 2-oxobutanoate, forming 2-ethyl-2-hydroxy-3-oxobutanoate, also known as 2-aceto-2-hydroxybutanoate, a reaction in the biosynthesis of isoleucine.
  • Formerly EC 4.1.3.18.

    Fumarylacetoacetase. [EC: 3.7.1.2]
    4-fumarylacetoacetate + H(2)O = acetoacetate + fumarate.
    • Also acts on other 3,5- and 2,4-dioxo acids.
    2 S0ANE5 S4YPM3
    Pyruvate oxidase. [EC: 1.2.3.3]
    Pyruvate + phosphate + O(2) = acetyl phosphate + CO(2) + H(2)O(2).
    • Two reducing equivalents are transferred from the resonant carbanion/enamine forms of 2-hydroxyethyl-thiamine-diphosphate to the adjacent flavin cofactor, yielding 2-acetyl-thiamine diphosphate (AcThDP) and reduced flavin.
    • FADH is reoxidized by O(2) to yield H(2)O(2) and FAD and AcThDP is cleaved phosphorolytically to acetyl phosphate and thiamine diphosphate.
