FunFam 2051: Protocatechuate 3,4-dioxygenase subunit beta

There are 2 EC terms in this cluster

Please note: EC annotations are assigned to the full protein sequence rather than individual protein domains. Since a given protein can contain multiple domains, it is possible that some of the annotations below come from additional domains that occur in the same protein, but have been classified elsewhere in CATH.

Note: The search results have been sorted with the annotations that are found most frequently at the top of the list. The results can be filtered by typing text into the search box at the top of the table.

EC Term Annotations Evidence
Protocatechuate 3,4-dioxygenase. [EC: 1.13.11.3]
3,4-dihydroxybenzoate + O(2) = 3-carboxy-cis,cis-muconate.
  • The enzyme, which participates in the degradation of aromatic compounds, catalyzes the intradiol addition of both oxygen atoms from molecular oxygen, resulting in ortho-cleavage of the aromatic ring.
  • The type of cleavage leads to mineralization via the intermediate 3-oxoadipate.
  • Formerly EC 1.13.1.3 and EC 1.99.2.3.

Indoleacetylglucose--inositol O-acyltransferase. [EC: 2.3.1.72]
1-O-(indol-3-yl)acetyl-beta-D-glucose + myo-inositol = D-glucose + O-(indol-3-yl)acetyl-myo-inositol.
  • The position of acylation is indeterminate because of the ease of acyl transfer between hydroxy groups.
