FunFam 3125: Anthranilate phosphoribosyltransferase

There are 2 EC terms in this cluster

Please note: EC annotations are assigned to the full protein sequence rather than individual protein domains. Since a given protein can contain multiple domains, it is possible that some of the annotations below come from additional domains that occur in the same protein, but have been classified elsewhere in CATH.

Note: The search results have been sorted with the annotations that are found most frequently at the top of the list. The results can be filtered by typing text into the search box at the top of the table.

EC Term Annotations Evidence
Anthranilate phosphoribosyltransferase. [EC: 2.4.2.18]
N-(5-phospho-D-ribosyl)-anthranilate + diphosphate = anthranilate + 5-phospho-alpha-D-ribose 1-diphosphate.
  • In some organisms, this enzyme is part of a multifunctional protein together with one or more components of the system for biosynthesis of tryptophan (EC 4.1.1.48, EC 4.1.3.27, EC 4.2.1.20, and EC 5.3.1.24).

Aminodeoxychorismate synthase. [EC: 2.6.1.85]
Chorismate + L-glutamine = 4-amino-4-deoxychorismate + L-glutamate.
  • Composed of two subunits, PabA and PabB.
  • In the absence of PabA and glutamine, PabB converts ammonia and chorismate into 4-amino-4-deoxychorismate.
  • PabA converts glutamine into glutamate only in the presence of stoichiometric amounts of PabB.
  • Coupled with EC 4.1.3.38, to form 4-aminobenzoate.
  • Formerly EC 6.3.5.8.
