Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: Ribosomal protein L17

This superfamily entry consists of the ribosomal protein L17 found in the large subunit (50S) of the bacterial ribosome. The yeast homologue is YmL8, and it is twice as large in number of residues. The N-terminal half of YmL8 is colinear with the sequence of L17 from Escherichia coli.
