".

Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: SusD-like, tetratrico peptide repeats domain

SusD is a secreted starch-binding protein with a critical role in starch and maltooligosaccharide binding. Its structure contains four tetratrico peptide repeats (TPR), each consisting of a helix-turn-helix. Citing literature suggests that TPR have may facilitate association with outer membrane transporters required for glycan uptake. PFAM:PF12771,DOI:10.1021/bi801942a
