The name of this superfamily has been modified since the most recent official CATH+ release (v4_3_0). At the point of the last release, this superfamily was named:

"
Carbamoyltransferase, C-terminal domain
".

Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: Carbamoyltransferase, C-terminal domain

Structural domains comprising this superfamily share the structure of the C-terminal domain of the carbamoyltransferase enzymes such as TobZ from Streptoalloteichus tenebrarius, NodU from Rhizobiun and CmcH from Nocardia lactamdurans. TobZ functions as an ATP carbamoyltransferase and tobramycin carbamoyltransferase PMID:22383337. NodU is a Rhizobium nodulation protein involved in the synthesis of nodulation factors which shows 6-O-carbamoyltransferase-like activity PMID:7559434. CmcH participates in cephamycin (antibiotic) biosynthesis and has 3-hydroxymethylcephem carbamoyltransferase activity PMID:7557411. These proteins contain two domains, this is entry represents the smaller, C-terminal domain.
