Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: GYF domain

This entry represents the glycine-tyrosine-phenylalanine (GYF) domain. The fold of the GYF domain reveals that the single alpha-helix of the domain is tilted away from the twisted, anti-parallel beta-sheet PMID:10404223. There is limited homology within the C-terminal 20-30 amino acids of various GYF domains, supporting the idea that this part of the domain is structurally but not functionally important PMID:12426371.
