Flavivirus polyprotein propeptide domain
".

Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: Flavivirus polyprotein propeptide domain

Flaviviruses are small enveloped animal viruses containing a single positive strand genomic RNA PMID:2174669. As well as other viruses, flaviviruses undergo a maturation process which, in this case, is directed by the proteolytic cleavage of the precursor membrane protein (prM), turning inert virus into infectious particles. Members of this superfamily share the structure of a propeptide region which is around 90 amino acids in length PMID:18369147.
