The name of this superfamily has been modified since the most recent official CATH+ release (v4_3_0). At the point of the last release, this superfamily was named:

L1 transposable element, C-terminal domain

Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: L1 transposable element, C-terminal domain

According to the literature, members of the structural domains which comprise this superfamily correspond to a conserved component in the protein ORF1 of the long interspersed nuclear element 1 (LINE-1 or L1) retrotransposon. This domain is designated C-terminal and its sole function is to assist RNA binding to the RRM, middle, domain PMID:21822284.
