Ncd80 complex, Nuf2 subunit
".

Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: Ncd80 complex, Nuf2 subunit

The name has been assigned the fact that the representative domain for this superfamily maps extremely well to a Pfam domain which belongs to a family known as Nuf2. According to the literature PMID:18455984 Nuf2 is one of the four subunits of the Ndc80 complex, an essential component of kinetochores since it comprises a point of direct contact between kinetochores and microtubules that make up the mitotic spindle and therefore has a key role in chromosome segregation.
