The name of this superfamily has been modified since the most recent official CATH+ release (v4_3_0). At the point of the last release, this superfamily was named:

"
Glucose-regulated metallo-peptidase M90, N-terminal domain
".

Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: Glucose-regulated metallo-peptidase M90, N-terminal domain

The name has been assigned based on the fact that the representative domain for this superfamily matches extremely well, 100% shared residues and 95% shared protein, with a Pfam domain which belong to the family known as glucose-regulated metallo-peptidase M90. This same name is also given to this structural domain by InterPro. However, when looking at the PDB seqeunce viewer it can be seen that the whole chain that this domain is found is is what is designated as glucose-regulated metallo-peptidase M90, thus the term N-terminal domain has been added for specificity.
