The name of this superfamily has been modified since the most recent official CATH+ release (v4_2_0). At the point of the last release, this superfamily was: waiting to be named.

Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: CREB-binding protein/p300 RING domain

CBP and p300 (also known as CREBBP or KAT3A and EP300 or KAT3B, respectively) are two closely related HATs that are crucial coactivators for gene regulation. CBP and p300 cooperatively bind and coordinate the assembly of multicomponent transcription-factor complexes. CBP and p300 are modular proteins that contain several well-defined domains including the CH1, KIX, CH3 (ZZ-TAZ2) and NCBD domains PMID:23934153. This entry represents the RING domain which has also been referred to as DUF902.
