The name of this superfamily has been modified since the most recent official CATH+ release (v4_2_0). At the point of the last release, this superfamily was: waiting to be named.

Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: Pre-mRNA-splicing helicase BRR2-like; Chain B, domain 9

The name has been chosen based on PDBs with domains in this superfamily since all the given structures correspond to domain 9 in chain B of the RNA helicase BRR2. This is backed up by the EC and GO entries which highlight the helicase activity of the members of this superfamily. It is important to note that, when considering UniProt-SwissProt entries, both DNA (activating signal cointegrator 1 complex subunit 3) and RNA helicase (BRR2) activity is reported for this superfamily. However, as already shown, the available structural information has been the main determinant for naming this superfamily.
