Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily:

This presumed domain is functionally uncharacterised. This domain is found in bacteria, archaea and eukaryotes. This domain is typically between 98 to 114 amino acids in length. This domain is found associated with PFAM:PF00144.

Peptidase S12, Pab87-related, C-terminal

This entry represents the C-terminal domain of a family of peptidases which belong to MEROPS peptidase family S12, clan SE. The structure of the Pyrococcus abyssi Pab87 peptidase has been determined at 2.2 A resolution PMID:19266066. Pab87 is a self-compartmentalising proteases that orchestrates protein turnover through an original architecture characterised by a central catalytic chamber.
