".

Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: Zinc finger FYVE domain-containing protein 21, C-terminal

According to available literature members of this superfamily share the structure of the C-terminal domain of Zinc finger FYVE domain-containing protein 21 (ZF21), involved in beta-tubulin binding. ZF21 regulates focal adhesions and cell migration binds by binding multiple factors that promote disassembly of FAs such as FAK, beta-tubulin, m-calpain, and SHP-2. This C-terminal domain of ZF21 is therefore key in FA disassembly and cell migration PMID:21768110. This domain is annotated in InterPro to have a PH-like fold (INTERPRO:IPR032031).
