The name of this superfamily has been modified since the most recent official CATH+ release (v4_3_0). At the point of the last release, this superfamily was named:

"
Metalloenzyme domain
".

Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: Metalloenzyme domain

This superfamily includes alkaline phosphatase, N-acetylgalactosamine-4-sulphatase, and cerebroside sulphatase, enzymes with known three-dimensional structures, with phosphopentomutase, 2,3-bisphosphoglycerate-independent phosphoglycerate mutase, phosphoglycerol transferase, phosphonate monoesterase, streptomycin-6-phosphate phosphatase, alkaline phosphodiesterase/nucleotide pyrophosphatase PC-1, and several closely related sulphatases. This domain is also related to alkaline phosphatase INTERPRO:IPR001952, PFAM:PF00245 PMID:10082381. The most conserved residues are probably involved in metal binding and catalysis.

INTERPRO:IPR006124, PFAM:PF01676
