The name of this superfamily has been modified since the most recent official CATH+ release (v4_3_0). At the point of the last release, this superfamily was named:

"
degv family protein
".

Functional Families

Overview of the Structural Clusters (SC) and Functional Families within this CATH Superfamily. Clusters with a representative structure are represented by a filled circle.

Superfamily: DegV, N-terminal domain, peripheral subdomain

The DegV family of proteins includes paralogous sets in several species (B. subtilis, Deinococcus radiodurans, Mycoplasma pneumoniae) that are closer in percent identity to each other than to most homologues from other species (INTERPRO:IPR003797). This entry represents the N-terminal peripheral subdomain found in this family of proteins which is made up of a three-stranded antiparallel beta-sheet and one alpha-helix PMID:19390149.
